Gordon Robertson was appointed Chief Executive Officer of The Christian Broadcasting Network on November 30, 2007. Prior to becoming CEO, Gordon was named the Executive Producer of The 700 Club in 2001 and a member of CBN’s board of directors in 2002.
The son of Pat and Dede Robertson, Gordon was born in New York City on June 4, 1958. He grew up in Portsmouth, Virginia, as God expanded the ministry of CBN. After graduating from Yale University in 1980, Gordon earned his Juris Doctor degree from Washington and Lee University. For the next 10 years, he practiced law in Norfolk, Virginia.
Then, during a short-term mission trip to India, the Lord opened Gordon’s heart to the plight of millions of unreached souls. Sensing God’s call to win the lost to Christ, Gordon resigned from his law firm and moved to the Philippines with his family. He joined CBN in July 1994 and founded CBN Asia, Inc., with the goal of replicating all the facets of CBN’s ministry in a culturally relevant context. This included producing The 700 Club Asia, an indigenous TV program featuring testimonies and prayer for salvation; establishing a local prayer counseling center; launching the humanitarian organization, Operation Blessing Philippines; and creating a training organization, the Asian Center for Missions. With local Christians involved at all levels of ministry, this groundbreaking combination of outreaches is transforming lives in very effective ways.
After training leaders and facilitating the development of similar CBN centers in India, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong and Beijing, Gordon relocated to the United States in April 1999. He now co-hosts CBN’s original flagship program,The 700 Club, along with The 700 Club Interactive, which airs on ABC Family and online. Gordon is also producing CBN’s new Superbook series, which utilizes state-of-the-art animation to share the truth of God’s Word while teaching children how to grow in Christ. He is actively involved in all aspects of programming for CBN’s ministry in both television and the Internet, and is dedicated to maximizing the potential of new technologies to spread the Gospel worldwide.
Gordon and his wife, Katharyn, reside in Virginia with their three children.
