Clean Water Outreach in the Philippines

Gordon Robertson shares about the work CBN is doing village by village to bring clean, safe drinking water to the Philippines.

According to UN research, almost eight million people lack access to clean water sources.  CBN is working village by village in the Philippines to bring that number down – and share the gospel.  CBN recently held a well dedication in Cabinitan village where the community suffered an outbreak of cholera last year caused by contaminated water.  Now they are grateful for a new well with clean water.  20 people in this village professed faith in Jesus as a result of the outreach.

So far this year, CBN has built 20 wells on the Philippine islands to provide water for over 3700 people.  Over the last 12 years, more than 165 thousand people in the Philippines have been helped through CBN’s well program.

Keeping God’s Commandments

Gordon Robertson shares the importance of keeping God’s commandments as an act of love to the Father.

Scripture:  John 14:21 (NKJV)
“He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”

Award-winning Television in Latin America

Gordon Robertson highlights the award-winning efforts of CBN’s Latin American broadcasts and particularly Club 700 Hoy host Pastor Hector Hermosillo.

CBN’s Spanish 700 Club (Club 700 Hoy) host Pastor Hector Hermosillo won an award for ‘Best Host’ of a Television program during the annual Eagle Awards.

The award recognizes the spreading of the Gospel to the Spanish speaking world. The award ceremony is part of Expolit 2013 – a convention of Latin American Christian journalists and communicators from around the world.

For 35 years CBN has aired Spanish language television programs into more than 25 countries and more than a thousand people each month commit their lives to Christ as a result.  And through follow–up, more than 50,000 people visit CBN’s Spanish websites each month.  In total, CBN’s Spanish programming received 8 nominations in the Eagle Awards.

The Message of Christ in Russian

Gordon Robertson shares about the new CBN website that is changing lives in Russian speaking parts of the world.

In one month, almost 4,000 people accepted Jesus after viewing CBN’s Russian website poiskboga.com. This website is part of CBN’s strategy to reach today’s generation of Russia speakers with the gospel message. The website launched in 2008 and so far 1.6 million people have visited and over 158,000 people have prayed to accept Jesus. Users can view stories of people who said the prayer of salvation and made an online decision to personally accept Jesus Christ.  CBN staff members follow up with new Christians and help enroll them in a discipleship course.  This website is a partnership with Jesus.net, a global network of Christian ministries engaged in evangelism on the Internet.

Earthquake Recovery in Guatemala with Operation Blessing

Gordon Robertson takes us to Guatemala to meet Glendy and her three daughters who are struggling to recover from an earthquake that killed the family’s husband and father.

SAN MARCOS, Guatemala – Glendy’s husband made her a promise—one that unfortunately he was not able to keep.

He promised to buy her a corn mill so she would be able to earn an income preparing tortillas at home while taking care of their three little girls.

But a few days later an earthquake struck their region of Guatemala—Glendy’s husband was killed and their home reduced to rubble.

As her girls cried and shivered in the cold of a temporary shelter, Glendy could only pray for a miracle.

In the days following the earthquake, Operation Blessing teams learned about Glendy’s situation and helped rebuild her damaged home.

To help get her back on her feet and provide for her three little ones, OBI fulfilled the promise her husband had made before his death by giving her a corn mill. Now, Glendy is able to work from home and earn enough income to take care of her children and even send them to school.
