hi joyce have you tryed when somone knocks and he barks u must first get your dogs attention and have on hand his favorite treat or toy what ever makes hi shappy some dogs work for treats some for toys make him sit and hold the toy or treat in ur fingers so he can only sniff it and lick .once you have his attention with the treat and he is sitting being quit at the door with you then give him the treat or toy but not until he stops barking repeat until he catches on and you will soon have a dog thats trained to not bark at people knocking this may drive ur company alittle crazy while you get him trained waiting at the door awhile but it pays off latr or you can get a friend to help you by just repeating the excersize sevreal times it may take awhile don t give up remeber he been barking at the door for awhile so he may take awhile to stop god bless and good luck amen

I feed my 10 year old shih tzu female at least 4 red grapes the ones with the seeds. I think I read somewhere it was one foods like choco. you should never feed your dog. What wil it do to her and what should I do.

i have a nine month old mini pin and his barking is driving me crazy. i am in a wheelchair and he is a great emotional help to me, but the barking is starting to upset my neighbors as well as i. i thought about the dreaded shock collar, but he is only about a pound and a half and they have nothing for small dogs. he sleeps with me at night after the cat, a maincoon pure bred, and much bigger than the dog, but he lets him gnaw on him until he gets tired of it and bits him back. that just makes the dog mad, when he was originally playing, and starts his gnawing harder. i get them calmed down and we go to bed (it is usually night time). i need to find a way to train him to not bark all the time. i have tried letting him bark once and then explain to him that it is outside and will not hurt us. then i give him a little biscuit. that is not working. help
