It’s never been tougher to be a teenager—or the parent of a teenager. Just ask author and speaker, Jodie Berndt, the mother of three teens and one pre-teen. Berndt has written several books, including two on prayer: Praying the Scriptures for Your Children(Zondervan 2001) and Praying the Scriptures for Your Teenager(Zondervan 2007). Please pray for my 17 year old daughter who has been taking drugs and partying continually. Our other daughter was killed in a car accident last June and things seem to be getting worse. I need a word from the Lord now more than ever.

God hears your cries Moms. If He answered my prayer for my son - who was going the wrong, wrong way and deep into drugs - He will do it for you too! My son is walking with the Lord and doing great. He often wears a t-shirt saying: He died for me so I'll follow Him (Jesus). Keep praying and never cease. Be blessed

Please pray that my two daughters ages 18 & 15 will make good choices for themselves. My oldest is going to college in the fall & has an opportunity to attend a Christian University. Pray for guidence and safety in her decision. Pray that my youngest will make good choices for herself in her sister's absence. She has been a good influence on her younger sister. We are blessed by our children. God id good! But it is really hard being a teen these days...They can use all the prayer they can get! Thank God for his provision and guidence. Pray that the money will be there when needed. "I will send showers, showers of blessings, which will come just when they are needed." Ezekiel 34:26b, NLT

pray for my son Joshua who turned 18 on November 5, 2010. He told us that he was gay back in May when he graduated. My husband is not talking to him and Josh is not talking to my husband. My daughter Rachel is 16 years old and she seems acceptable of the gay lifestyle. My husband and I both told him what the bible says about gay life style and he will not listen. They only want to talk or speak when they are right and if they need money. My other son Noah is 8 years old and he is doing very poorly in school. My daughter Sarah has Downs and is 7 years old and is being potty trained and cannot speak any words. She makes sounds and you cannot understand her. None of my kids were in church. I told them about the bible from what I have learned and they will not read the bible. I gave the older kids a bible last year for Chrismas 2009. My husband was a believer and now he is not. He does not even bring the bible up and when he does, he makes mockery about me believing in prayer or say something sarcatic about me praying for him. We not go to church and I am looking for a church home. I am 49 years old and my husband, Mike is 46. God Bless, Alethea

Megan, you are definitely turning to the right source - our Lord, Savior and creator. He has wonderful plans for your daughter, but perhaps this time/season is also for you. A time for testing your dependency upon the Lord. I was reminded of this today when I was sharing about my son and was encourage to change my feelings/prayers from the "fear of what might happen" to "faith in the Lord's desire and ability to surround and protect him". I remember that instead of worrying, I was to thank the Lord every night that He was with my teenager and was drawing him to Himself. THEN to lay back and in faith go to sleep! The follow-up, of course, is to continue to speak words of faith over your teenager and not words of fear of what might happen as a result of their behavior - but the continual reminder that they are loved and Christ not only loves them, but died for them too. God is so faithful!
