Recipes: Soul Food from Martha's Place

>> View All Resources / Fact Sheets

The story of Martha Hawkins' troubled years and her ultimate recovery from depression is the focus of her heart-rending yet uplifting book, FINDING MARTHA'S PLACE: My Journey Through Sin, Salvation, and Lots of Soul Food (Published by Simon & Schuster, 2010; Copyright © 2010 by Martha Hawkins and Marcus Brotherton) with Marcus Brotherton. But in addition to her story, Hawkins includes a number of recipes from her restaurant. Here are just a few of those recipes, along with a bonus recipe – her Famous Lima Beans.

I would love the recipe in particular for the wild rice and leftover turkey, it would not down load for me either. Praying for an outcome of a Godly President of the U.S. God bless you all.

I tried on this one, also and it won't work either. No anything. Help, please. I would love to have these recipes. I, too would like a copy if you are sending them out instead of us printing from here. Thank you

Everyone don't forget to pray hard today. We need a president who loves the Lord and our country, and remembers he works first for God and then for us.

I look forward to trying your pork chop casserole. I am trying to make life more exciting by have a different dish each week from a different culture. Also , I too deal with depression. I believe that God spoke to my heart clearly that I am in him and that his truth is what will set my soul free. Remain in his truth and don't stop believing in his word. His word is the truth and we can stand on it.

Aloha and mahalos (thanks) for the great Christ-like example Sister Martha and for yummy the recipes....All looks yummy.

Next time we get through Montgomery, we'll be sure to be bless by you....Technical suggestion: Could it be possible to link to fact sheets (i.e. martha's fact sheet or just recipes) from her video with the instructions (i.e. adobe needed) as I see a few folks had some problems with this operation.

Thanks again and we love and appreciate being 700 Club partners for over 30 years.....Aloha. PJ & PS

I made the pork chop recipe for dinner. My husband and I loved it. will
definetly make it for company. It was awesome. I did have to bake it longer
than 45 minutes. It took 1hour and fifteen minutes to cook because the potatoes
just were not getting done.
