shud I ask for things or just get to know God as in " seek yee first the kingdom of God and all these things etc

is it ok to eat a tiny meal at the end of the day if I am feeling weak and shaky??

how much water shud I drink ??

what if my house is dirty and the dog pooped in places over the rugs  and I keep cleaning and cleaning and the whole day goes by and I am still cleaning and I am still fasting but I did not pray CAN I JUST SING PRASIE while i clean the house ?

and then my husband does sumthing to provoke me and I loose my temper while i am fasting , did i fail ???

I HAVE LOTS OF QUESTIONS PLEASE HELP

The purpose of fasting is not to be heard but rather to mortifying the flesh, denying it so that the spirit is more receptive to hearing from God. We are often presumptuous to think we can try and ffect God, but it is God that affects us, as He is unchanging, and it is us that need change. Know that He wants the best for you and yours as much if not more than you do, and trust him enough to listen for Him to guide you in the way that you should go, what He would have you do. Fasting is not denying ourselves so that He will feel sorry for us and move. It is being sorry for letting our flesh get in the way of His purpose. While fasting, we shouldn't be focused on what we are doing without as much as Who we are doing without, and drawing closer to Him. There is no point in doing without if we do not seek to hear His voice as that is the entire purpose of fasting and prayer. So then, it is not doing to get what we want done, the whole point is to see more clearly what God would have done. Although, you can be sure it is better than you could hope.
