He fought the good fight of faith Bishop Paul Herbert Young, Jr., Pastor of the House of Faith Full Gospel Church in Lafayette, LA, died peacefully at his home on August 18, 2004. Born in Lafayette on June 11, 1954, Bishop Young served honorably in the United States Air Force (E5), being stationed in the United States, Southeast Asia, and Europe from 1973 - 1987. He attended the University of North Dakota and Texas Christian University on an academic scholarship. Called into the Gospel ministry in 1987, as an evangelist, Bishop Young preached the Word of God with Holy Ghost power and the spirit of joy. His testimony of total deliverance from the kingdom of darkness inspired many to turn their lives over to the Lord Jesus Christ. As the anointed voice of "Total Freedom Outreach Ministries" and the "Always Abounding" radio broadcasts, Bishop Young was heard throughout Southwest Louisiana, and East and North Texas. Memorial donations may be made to the House of Faith Full Gospel Church, P.O. Box 5152, 710 Jefferson Blvd., Lafayette, LA 70502. "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He might be glorified." Isaiah 61: 1-3
